Born in Worcester to parents that immigrated to the United States from Greece. The lessons I learned was how fortunate we were to live in America and in Worcester. Those Values were Family, Freedom and Opportunity, the American Dream. My parents were poor, with little education, so I took a job at the age of 8 years old delivering both the morning and evening issues of the Telegram and Gazette. The money went to help my parents, as they worked for minimum wages in Worcester's Factories. Family was the most important Value that we could only afford.
I began to get involved with school, church, and youth groups. While in my early teens, I held my first office in the Greek Orthodox Youth Of America (G.O.Y.A.). There I learned what leadership entailments were. Thereafter I began to take Civic interests. I took an interest and began working on various Statewide Campaigns, Local and Federal, this continued through the decades to this present day.
I attended the Worcester Public School System, and graduated from Doherty High School. While a senior at Doherty, there was a program that was available to me called S.I.T.E. (Students Involved in Their Education). This allowed me to attend Quinsigamond Community College and receive credits for my Senior Year at Doherty. Following graduation, while remaining employed, I transferred to the now Worcester State University as a Business Major.
Upon completion of my sophomore year, I decided that I wanted more out of life an have a Business of my own. That’s where it all began, Businesses in the Food Service Industry. Spanning from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Miami Beach Florida and Connecticut within the Food Industry, I then turned to Real Estate Investment and Development. My Experiences in the Business world spanned over 38 years.
Today, I am blessed to be working in the field of Human Services that allows me to have another calling in life, this has been another great opportunity of learning. I sit on boards of various Committees, throughout the community and entering a third term, Vice Chair of the Citizens Advisory Council here in the City of Worcester.
There were NO limits that I set for myself and to the experiences that I have learned, far more than I would have expected. I have the drive, the wisdom and backbone. A True education of being hands on, and with those experiences that will allows me to become more of an effective and successful City Councilor in Representing District 4 and for the City of Worcester.
